Until some time ago, FII flows gave directional lead to the markets. FII flows though still very important, flows from DIIs have become as important as FIIs.

Insight- For past two months, FIIs have been net sellers in the equity markets. Markets have received support from buoyant DII flows. Post Demonetization, as a result of higher financial savings DII flows have been robust.
