Central Banks Continue To Increase Gold Reserves

Central Banks gold reserves increased to 35,395 tonnes in Mar-21 quarter from 34,889 tonnes in Mar-20 quarter.

Insight: India and Japan are the two major countries to have increased their reserves in Mar-21 quarter. Japan's gold reserves increased to 846 tonnes vs 765.2 tonnes in Dec-20 quarter. Gold reserves in India are at an all-time high of 695.3 tonnes vs 676.6 tonnes in Dec-20 quarter. United States continues to hold the highest reserves at 8,133 tonnes  followed by Germany at 3,362 tonnes.
